Inês Bento Coelho is a visual artist and researcher based in Glasgow. She is currently a doctoral researcher at The Glasgow School of Art (GSA) funded by the FCT Foundation. Her PhD project, Choreography as a Visual Arts Method, focuses on a choreographic framework to make visual artworks. Her work explores space awareness and perception through performance, video, and site-specific practices. Recent projects include workroom at The Work Room residency, Tramway; and Birds, part of Fictional Matters at Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow.

Inês received several awards and honors, such as the Postgraduate Welcome Scholarship (Glasgow School of Art, 2014), and the Inov-Art Grant (Portuguese Ministry of Culture, 2009). In 2012, she was shortlisted for the Red Mansion Art Prize. She was an Artist-in-residence at Croydon College of Art (2014), and Archway Investigations and Responses (2012). Currently, she is a Graduate Teaching Assistant at GSA, and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She holds an MA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins (UAL) supported by the AHRC (2012), and a BA in Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts Lisbon (2007). Her work has been exhibited in Portugal, England, and Scotland since 2008.
