Everything changes so quickly, 2013

Looking at the city as a stage and thinking about pedestrians as performers, how is it possible to create a situation where the public is unconsciously part of the work and performs in it? Can everyday activities such as waiting, texting, standing, being lost, walking fast, be performative?

In this work stillness operates as a mode of bringing visibility to what is already there, but invisible or unseen: by placing performers standing still, everyday movements and actions gain visibility. The fine line between what is real and what is performed disintegrates, and pedestrians become actors in an invisible play.

Performers: Joana Ranção and Pinelopi Antoniou.
